The Nisqually River Valley communities of Ashford and Elbe invite you to discover the wide variety of recreational opportunities and services at the southwest corner of Mount Rainier National Park. We are located along State Route 706 just outside Mount Rainier National Park's Nisqually Entrance, the only entrance open year-round.

From Seattle:
South on I-5 to Exit 127. East on SR 512 to SR 7. South on SR 7 to Elbe. East on SR 706 through Ashford to the Nisqually Entrance.

From Tacoma:
South on SR 7 (Pacific Ave.) to Elbe. East on SR 706 through Ashford to the Nisqually Entrance.

From Portland:
North on Interstate 5 to US 12 (Exit 68). East on US 12 to Morton. North on SR 7 to Elbe. East on SR 706 through Ashford to the Nisqually Entrance.

From Yakima:
West on US 12 to Packwood.

During summer months: Turn north in Packwood on Forest Service Road #52 (Skate Creek Road). Turn east at the junction with SR 706 to the Nisqually Entrance.

During winter months: Proceed through Packwood to the junction with SR 7 in Morton. Turn north on SR 7 to Elbe and the junction with SR 706. Turn east (right) on SR 706 through Ashford to the Nisqually Entrance.

The Mount Rainier Visitor Center is located at RMI Basecamp inside Whittaker Mountaineering.
